note: The scenes in these conversations are mostly a little crazy, silly or stupid. That makes them easier to remember ! Please act a bit crazy when you do them. Especially use extra stress in your intonation, and join phrases into tone groups. Do not speak word by word !
1. A Dead Tortoise
+ This tortoise I bought here yesterday has died.
- What do you mean it has died?
+ It is dead, kaput, finished, gone to meet it's maker.
- Not at all. The tortoise is just sleeping.
+ Oh come on! This tortise is dead. It hasn't moved for 15 hours.
- My dear sir, tortoises are slow movers. Don't be impatient.
+ Look, if I wanted a rock for a pet, I would have bought a rock.
- My partner has a very excellent rock shop in Insa-dong ...
+ Enough of this nonsense! I am returning your dead tortoise. I want my money back.
- Your tortoise just moved its leg sir. It is a perfectly good tortoise.
+ Aaagh! It's a dead tortoise ! I'll complain to the TV news about you !
